Lounging in Downtown Albuquerque

Downtown Albuquerque. There’s really no place like it. Where else can you travel the iconic Route 66 complete with neon lights and historic New Mexican architecture?

Some might think One Up is just another club or bar in downtown Albuquerque. Well they’re half right…we’re in downtown Albuquerque. Instead of a club, we’re actually a lounge.

Here’s the deal. To us, a lounge is a place you can relax and escape the mayhem of your busy workday. It’s a place where you can drink signature cocktails and hang out with your favorite friends or make new ones. It’s a place where you can sit in the windows, snack on some tapas, and chill out to relaxing house music.

That’s what makes One Up special and unique to Albuquerque, especially downtown. I welcome you and your friends to experience our lounge, cocktails, and tapas. –David Blanc

New Year, New Lounge

2009 is finally here. For me and the rest of the gang at One Up, this means putting the finishing touches on our new elevated lounge. For those of you unfamiliar One Up – our gem on the corner of Central and 3rd Street – it’s the completely renovated lounge formerly known as the Carom Club. What used to be a competitive billiard hall is now a swanky lounge complete with a full bar, private dining area, and yes, a few pool tables in the back.

The renovations have been tedious and time consuming, but overall the results match the vision inspired by our management team. The overhaul has been a team effort by all of us – from our fabulous mixologists, risk-taking chef, and courteous wait staff. One Up is now your place to Mix It Up – literally with our signature cocktails and socially by coming downtown for a night out with friends.

Acquaint yourself with our new digs by taking a virtual tour of the place from the homepage (http://www. oneupabq.com). I’m sure you’ll like what you see. And after you check it out online, drop by for happy hour or during our after-hours lounge. We welcome your photos, videos, and comments on your experiences.

Until next time…drink, eat, lounge, and enjoy life. –David Blanc
